Samson S-Monitor - Dodgy PSU's

Thought I'd post this for anyone using or interested in the Samson S-Monitor headphone amp.

I bought one of these just over a year ago and was initially disappointed with hum on the S-Monitor. However, I borrowed a friends and there was no hum on his and he had a different model power supply. It appears power supplies with the model number SFP2000200P have some noticeable hum and the power supplies with the model number HK-CP11-A18 are hum free. Both of these are Samson power supplies.



However, I had to replace the my power supply due to someone accidently breaking it at a gig. I replaced it with one of these :-

I have been very surprised at the difference this has made. My S-Monitor is now totally hiss free aswell as not having the hum from the original Samson power supply. The audio is now extremely clean even when the volume is turned up to 100%! This power supply also looks like it is more durable and able to stand up to regular gigging! I'm going to report my findings to Samson as these three different power supplies have made a noticeable difference to the audio quality of the S-Monitor.
