Today I previewed my mix for a 1 minute teaser in a local theatre with my producer and director. Everything was perfect even the low end on the sub was really satisfying. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the high end on front speakers, I was missing some air, some 12khz. I also felt some 90hz boomy sound on kick. The mix was perfect in my studio on my JBLs 308s.
I want to ask, is it the normal translation difference that everyone gets? I didn't use any roll off or x-curve thing on my monitoring while mixing. I think turning down the highs on my JBL 308s can help me setting up some good high end for theater.
