Don't look now, but "The Warmaster" is back and ready to crack some skulls.
According a report from Ariel Helwani on UFC Tonight, veteran UFC heavyweight contender Josh Barnett sustained an undisclosed knee injury in February, two months after his most recent Octagon appearance.
However, after undergoing rehabilitation and shooting a film in Romania with Steven Seagal, Barnett has now been cleared to resume training and is eager return to the cage.
A perennial lock on heavyweight top-10 lists, Barnett (33-6) has been held out of action since suffering a 60-second knockout at the hands of Travis Browne in late-December at UFC 168.
According to Barnett's manager, Leland LaBarre, the 36-year-old was "furious at himself" as he recently watched Browne vie for a heavyweight title shot against Fabricio Werdum at UFC on FOX 11.
Regardless of his loss, Barnett remains the No. 5 ranked heavyweight under UFC employment. He counts a host of notable wins on his résumé, including victories over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mark Hunt, Frank Mir and Randy Couture.
