The time has come for UFC MMAnia!!!

So, we've all noticed the growing pains UFC has been going through while trying to solidify itself as a global sport. The product is expanding, and the cards are becoming a little watered down. The casual fan is becoming overwhelmend by the volume of fights and fighters and the whole thing is has taken on a vanilla flabvour. So where do we go from here? What are the next steps the UFC needs to take to round this corner, as going back just isn't an option?





Enter UFC MMAnia!!! (I'm sure they'll decide on a better title for the event.)



An anual blow out gala event that will garner everyones attention and help continue to build UFCs mainsteam popularity. A day when everyone watches MMA no matter what their current level of interest in the product.



But wont that just serve to further water down the remainder of PPVs? Yeah, a little, but not an overwhelming amount and the benifits will greatly out weight the draw backs. All things considered it should only really detract from a single other PPV.



So, here is my proposed MMAnia fight card.



Opener: Heavy Weight #1 contendership matchup

2nd fight: Womans 135 #1 contender matchup

3rd fight: a suitable "super fight" contested between aging legends

4rth fight: Womans 135 title fight

SME: Light Heavy Weight title

ME: Heavy Weight title



Now, sure this card could be spread over 2 or even 3 PPVs but the thing we're trying to accomplish here is to create an annual event that no one will want to miss. Something solid people can count on that they can look forward to each year.





So what say you? Is it time? Is this just never going to be feasible? Personally I think we are there in terms of overall growth of the sport.
