i have a studer 961 (10mono line channels) and a stereo aux return.
iam trying to go more and more out of the box, but with 12 channels iam fast at my limits, for a small jazz band or singer songwriter its ok, but having a normal rockband iam running out of channels (beside the big problem not having a bus for the drums, as i have a nice drawmer 1968 for drum bus duties, but thats an other story.
iam thinking of getting a sidecar/a small mixer with 6-8 channels which i can connect with the aux returns.
selling the 961 and getting an 962 is at least at the moment not an option, as i record often outside of the studio, and the studer has very nice preamps and is quite portable.
any suggestions? (iam from vienna/austria, so stuff that is easier available in europe is prefered)
alice 828?
tl audio m3 (i saw one now for 900euro)
best would be unter 500-600euro. 900-1000eruo would be my maximum strech.
