I have the Alesis IO26 hooked up with the power supply and no Firewire ( don't have a FW cable yet).
The manual hookup diagram tells you to hookup your powered speakers to outputs 3-8, on the back of the unit. I plugged my Powered KRK Rokit 5 monitors into Outputs 3 (L) and Output 4 (R).
I played my drum machine through inputs 1 (L) and 2 (R) of the Alesis IO 26, from the main outputs of my MPC.
I turned the gain up on inputs 1 & 2... i get nothing. No audio, but the input 1 and 2 meters on the IO 26 were reacting to the output of the MPC, I just wasn't getting any audio out of the IO 26 outputs.
Do I need the IO26 connected via Firewire to access the outputs on the back? I can't believe it doesn't work as a standalone unit. Or maybe I'm missing something...
