Cranesong Flamingo. Vintage flavor??

Hi

I need a stereo preamp with a cool color. Just to give a bit of vintage flavor on my acoustic recordings.

With my budget I could buy a TK audio DP1, or a used Flamingo.

The Flamingo costs as three DP1, I suppose is a better quality preamp, but what can you tell me about the color? They say that the Flamingo can have a vintage flavor too... Is that true?
