Hi everybody,
i´m on Cubase 8 now and about to redo my orchetral template from scratch.
I think the visibility function in the mixer is very helpful in these regards.
Nevertheless i have one problem/question where i´m not sure if i´m doing something wrong or it´s just not possible in cubase:
I start by selecting Kontakt as a track instrument. Once it appears i right click on the track and choose " add midi channels" so that the corresponding channels line up underneath the main Kontakt instrument track.
I also activate 16 stereo outs for Kontakt so that every instrument has its own output. In the mixer i hide all the midi channels because i don´t use them so i don´t want to see them there. All i see in the mixer are tracks named Kontakt 5, Kt.st.2, Kt.st.3 etc.So far so good.
Now if click on the Kontakt instr. track in the project window the mixer moves to the corresponding track. If i click on a midi track nothing happens in the mixer and i have to search for the output manually which can be a pain with a few hundred tracks. So my question is: is there a way to change this? Can i " connect" a midi channel with it´s audio output so that the mixer moves to the right spot? Or do i actually have to open 16 instances of Kontakt, one for each instrument, to achieve this? A few hundred instances can add up to quite a lot in RAM...
Thanks a lot for your help and suggestions!
Best,
Ilja
