I bought it used off ebay for $300. it works in omni, figure 8, and cardiod, all switchable from the mic. It also has a hi pass filter, and -10db pad. I think this mic sounds bad ass. It has color for sure, and distortion from the tube/low-grade trafo. I'm sure one could "clean" up the sound with higher quality replacement, but I'm hooked on it as is. Recording vocals, with mic in figure 8, about 2 feet out delivers a track that only needs a couple db of compression to sit. I record exclusively to, and mix from, tape. The high end sits nicely in the mix, ymmv. I'm grabbing at least 1 more. kfhkh The shockmount isn't really that great, but otherwise I dig it.
