Sorry if I've been flooding these boards quite a bit lately but due to the introduction of a new Gries 5 (a 5 watt BFC clone) that I've got coming in, I'm changing up much of my rig again so I can essentially marry the pedal board to the amp which has none of its own actual effects.
I'm looking for a replacement for my electro harmonix black finger. The Black finger is nice but its weird proprietary power supply doesn't play well with the rest of my pedalboard and takes up sizable real estate on the board. I've been noticing that a few clean boosts also taut themselves as light compressors and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.
I saw a Bogner Harlow online that I really wanted to try as well as the Strymon OB1 and really wanted to try them. My Sam Ash doesn't have them but I know guitar center does. I'm gonna demo it when I get the chance.
Here's what I'm looking for particularly
a)Provide a boost for low volume cleans playing to keep it from breaking up too soon.
b)Semi versatile compression but just enough squish to get some of that gorgeous trashy sound from Under the Bridge.
