Every Last GEARSLUTZ user out there

When is it said to be enough is enough and give up on something? I fear I've been building my studio for the last 5-6 years heavily and I believe that I have gotten no where at all. I couldn't explain to anybody the exact amount I have spent on everything in my little bedroom setup, but that it is roughly anywhere from 15k -30k easily. As many plugins as GOD would ever allow one person to own and as many DAWS as one person could ever use. I have so much stuff but I just don't see any of my music going anywhere. Is it my voice? Did I really spend all this money thinking I was going to be famous? Yes! Back in 2008 when I started collecting I got motivated by EMINEM and said I'll be the next white rapper. Here now, in 2015, I find myself motivated by folk music, such as marybelle carter, johnny cash, june carter, some other nice artists that I haven't learned their names as of yet.



What I seem I struggle with the most and probably is the downfall of me:



-Piano (chords,scales,) just pressing random keys hoping I come up with something melodic.

- Guitar - A $3,000 Martin acoustic and I don't even know how to play it satisfactory.

- Songwriting - Must have a melody first before I write lyrics because some of my stuff I have no idea how you'd make a beat to it any other way.
