So I`m getting serious about Midi composition and orchestration.
I have most of my setup either bough or soon to be bought, however I don`t know yet how to handle dynamics, and what pros or cons each option has.
I have been programming with mouse my midi tracks for many years, just now I`m going to buy a keyboard controller. I play a liiiittle bit of piano, so I will mostly be learning from zero, so the whole "do whatever you have been doing and works for you" doesn`t apply to me in this situation.
The controller I`m going to buy is probably going to be the Alesis Vl61, which has modwheel, faders and is touch sensitive. I thought I was covered with that, until I saw a video of Vangelis and his ridiculous foot controller setup, and a light dawned on me. I hadn`t even considered anything controlled by foot, but makes a lot of sense, since it leaves both hands free and you take advantage of both your arms and legs. I`m a drummer so I shouldn't have much problem doing independent stuff with each extremity, so I`m considering buying a Behringer 1010 foot controller for that porpouse.
Anyway, I`d love to know what you guys think about it and your experiences controlling MIDI CC parameters.
