different 500 cases with different noise floor?

hey everyone,



i´m very new to the 500er stuff,

i got a elysia envelope 500 module (very nice!) with a fredenstein bento6 case some days ago, and its nice, but i am having some noise issues. not big, but they are there.

i would think that this is normal, but a friend of mine has a standalone enveloper from elysia, and we tested it against each other by recording the output when nothing is on the input.

interestingly, he has 5 db less noise..



now i ask myself, is that normal with 500er modules? that they are a bit more noisy? or is it the case? could i lower the noise floor by buying a better (but which one?) case?
