Wanting to hear from people who actually OWN HD Native PCIe... preferably with an Omni.
I went from a HD2 Accel/192 system to a quasi HD Native system. I am running 11HD using the mBox3 (which is basically a dongle since I do all A/D D/A through my UA2192).
Overall performance is "fine". Latency is usually unnoticeable. However, the practice of recording a track once a lot of processing is going on (AAX native, Maschine, Komplete) introduces a lot of latency. I have a Dell Precision, 8 core Xeon 3.33, 64GB ram, SSDs etc... so the computer is no slouch.
Wondering about HD native with PCIe performance. Are you able to drop into record in a mix and record , say, a shaker or something that requires dead on accuracy? Am i correct to say that the HD Native card has enough DSP to give a zero latency stereo mix?
Or should i just go HDX? From what I have researched here on this board, I am not sold that it will help me. I dont track bands, just me ... usually 2 inputs at most.
thanks
