I have a question for other TV dialog mixers.
I personally have been finding that more and more we are having to resort to using the lav tracks in the mix.
With a lot of shows shooting with two cameras, the boom can't get in there, or is too far away.
I also have had too many problems with the mix track, so I have told our editors, to save time, to ignore it. Start with the boom, and if there's a problem, find a better sounding track. Usually a lav.
Is anybody else seeing these rules of issues?
What would you say the percentage of lav vs boom that is being used.
