Royer R-101 and Warm Audio TB12 Tone Beast - input impedance

I have a question about using the Royer R-101 with the Warm Audio TB12 preamp.



The Royer manual states:

If the mic is rated at 300 Ohms (as the R-101 is), the preamp should have an input impedance of at least 1500 Ohms. If the impedance of the preamp is too low, the microphone will lose low end, body and sensitivity

The ToneBeast manual says:

Tone Switch When engaged the input impedance of the Tone Beast is 150 ohms. When dis-engaged the input impedance of the Tone Beast is 600 ohms. The 150 ohm (switched-in) setting increases the gain of the Tone Beast by +6db changing the maximum gain from +65 to +71db. (…) The 600 ohms impedance setting is recommended for condenser and dynamic microphones, and 150 ohms is recommended for ribbons.

So - what is it?



The mic sounds fine on both settings, although it has a different sound with the "tone" engaged. It doesn't seem that it loses body or sensitivity.
