Should you use analogue summing vs Slate VCC

I have the VCC collection and so far Im happy with that. Im not an expert but I wonder if you have an analogue summing mixer like the Neve 8816, would you still need VCC and similar emulation plugs or how would you use them anyway? Still the th plugin buss compressor on the master fader or no need? Dont want to do the process twice if its not helpful.
