Buzzing using Apogee Duet 2 and Focusrite Saffire 40 simultaneously

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and if they could share some advice.

I own a Saffire Pro 40 and an Apogee Duet 2.

I've had the Duet for longest, I use it to monitor my audio.

I bought the Saffire with the intention of using it to connect up my different instruments and equipment as the duet's 2 inputs were not enough.

When I first got the Saffire I was using it for both input/output and monitoring.

The apogee sat in a box for a little while. I decided to break it out again because I wasn't happy with the Saffire monitoring fidelity.

Now when I try to use the two at once, the duet being in the usb port and Saffire in the firewire, I'm getting a lot of buzzing and clicking coming through my monitors. This happens even when the Saffire is connected and not powered.

Is there an easy way to remedy this? Maybe using a firewire to thunderbolt adapter? Or will I just have to try different powerboards etc til the buzzing stops?

I'm working on a MacBook pro.

Again, any advice would be much appreciated, I'm itching to get the lab running at full capacity again! :synth: abduction
