Hihoo ,
I have a Nuendo 4.3 issue with Quicktime mov ,on WinXP Pro x86 and a Nvidia GT440 graphic card , QT 7.7.3 installed :
Have done a couple of tests (years back) with short mpg's (1 à 4 minutes long at the longest) , and that imported/audio-extracted/played back and worked well , running the Direct-X player .
Now , I have (1st time) a mix-job of an independent movie that starts next week.
Client is on Mac and gave me a 57' footage (1280x720).mov , with a rough reference/alignement audio mix to rely on .
When importing this mov into an empty project , video track & original audio track are well extracted , framerate from footage (25ips), 48000/24 audio , project matches all settings of the original file .
Video plays back very smoothly ... but audio doesn't (a simple unprocessed stereo file).
When video player is open , audio crackles all the way . If I close the video player , audio plays back just fine .
I tried playing back video @ half settings , de-ticking "high-quality", resizing the player to a thumbnail ... audio still crackles .
Tried raising my audio interface's buffer @ 128,256,512,1024 . No change .
It only occurs with QT selected as video device & video player open .
Before I waste hours in re-encoding the movie into a Direct-X compatible format , I'd love to know if this a known thing , and if there's a workaround .
Or am I missing something ?
Thankies
Remco Z
