Effects Rack Processors- Second Opinions?

I'm very new to this rack gear stuff guys so please bare with me. Dr. Mordo suggested an Evantide Pitch Factor Harmonizer Pedal for haas/pan in a live guitar situation. $500.00 brand new for one online. WOW! Must be worth it?

He also stated that I'd need to pitch modulate the delayed signal perhaps with a ClusterfluxWHT or a MF104M Moogerfooger...he said to set the wave knob to "random" to get the best double track stereo pan detune effect out of my rig. Yeah???

I also want to clear up some confusion. There are people in Guitar Center and just about every forum who say you need to delay both amps differently. And then you have people who say only one side needs to be delayed and modulated for a double track/pan/detune effect. WHICH ONE IS IT? One signal wet and the other one dry or both wet with different delay times confoosed

Dr. Mordo sounds fairly knowledgeable on the haas/pan concept and I'd just like to get a second opinion here on what would be the easiest gear to operate on stage because I have to move fast and don't have time to think especially when overloaded with stage adrenaline.

I'm used to working with guitar effect pedals only so this stuff is really out of my element but I want to have a stereo rig because I just love the way metal bands sound that use it live and on recording. It's the fattest distortion tone ever and cleans sound nice and full as opposed to thin. I'm so sick and tired of using heavy EQ to mimic a double track sound. It's just not the same and doubling my guitar would allow me to cut back on the Bass so my midrange instrument can sound more mids and hi's without sounding too harsh and brittle. Don't get me wrong I love the sound of my distortion with LOTS of eq BUT I know I can get a lot better out of my rig and that would allow me to cut back on using the eq so much for my sound :)

You know your favorite guitar players use doubling when they always have a lit up rack sitting on top of their amp next to another amp and the sound is um...BRILLIANT & MASSIVE!!!!

Things I'm looking for in both delay unit and modulator unit:

-easy as 1,2,3, operation

-midi controllable

-$200.00 per unit but if there is a cheaper solution... I'd love to save money.

Also what is the order in the effects loop I should arrange my effects? Modulator into Delay into MXR 10 BAND EQ? Please help?
