Logic X bug? Trying to monitor input.

Have been using Logic 9 for years and recently switched to X. When I have an armed track and I want to just play along with the track I lose my input monitoring when I hit the play button. I only have sound when I hit record. So it seems like I have to switch from having the track armed to pressing the "I" (input) button AND turn off the "R" button on the track. On Logic 9 the input would be monitored wether I had the "I" or the "R" button and wether I was playing back or recording without having to switch back and forth. It is really annoying to have to switch these buttons wether I am recording or playing along. Anyone know a way to make it behave like L9? Thanks.
