"Never Again," Experimental Rock/Blues, Criticism Welcome

Ok, so I was tasked by a director to write a score for a film about a backwoods family fighting over inheritance money that has a super dark feel. I told him that I would need to hire a guitarist to do the majority of the film since I don't play to a professional level--I'm talking banjo, slide guitar, very stylistic dark blues/folk--but he wanted me to "do with an orchestra what I'm hearing with all those other instruments."



Anyway, this is the result. The version of this cue that I originally wrote for the trailer wasn't conducive to listening to--it was all chopped up to make sense with the scene changes--but I decided it might be a seller in the libraries so I put it into more of a song format.



This is COMPLETELY uncharted territory for me. I tried to make it sound nasty while still being somewhat commercial. I'm curious to get your thoughts on the mix and general composition. It's a weird piece to be sure; the director liked it well enough so I imagine that's all I need to know, but I've put out some pretty shoddy work before that was accepted without revision, and I'm in this for more than just to make money so if you hear a problem I'd love to hear it.
