Hey Guys,
We're on our second pair of Dynaudio BM15A monitors over here. We absolutely loved the first pair and never had any problems with them. However, they belonged to a mastering engineer who was renting time at our studio and when he had to move on we were left without. So naturally we went out and got another pair to replace them.
We had been using them successfully for a few weeks until today when they stopped passing signal. They still power on (green LED lit), but the red LED begins to light (as if clipping) as the monitor level is turned up (well before if it were clipping due to actual signal) and we get absolutely no sound.
We're using a Dangerous Source as our monitor controller and the second set of speakers still work. So we tried moving the Dyns to that output - no luck.
We tried swapping power and audio cables.
Tried moving them to a different electrical circuit.
Tried plugging them directly into a different audio interface with a laptop (rather than our whole rig/mac pro).
Tested fuses for continuity.
No luck with any of these. We have already written to Dynaudio, but wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this. Or if anyone has any other ideas for troubleshooting.
Thanks you guys rule!
