Comfy, rugged cans for general use and mix checking

Hello!

I'm in the market for some new cans, and I have very little knowledge of what's what with headphones, so I was hoping some fine fellows could point me in the right direction and give some options to consider?

I use headphones in my home studio for tracking and composing (guitars, synths, keys, drum samples etc), and for general nocturnal use - knocking up draft 'working' mixes to share ideas with collaborators.

Currently using the headphone output of my Fireface 802 to power a pair of Shure SRH440 closed back efforts. I'm ok with them for short periods, but they become very fatiguing and also physically uncomfortable on the head/ears after an hour or so. I did resort to using some Griffin Woodtones (over ear) which were very comfy, but the build on these was very flimsy, and they now rest in pieces.

The priorities are probably the same as what everyone else's would be: comfort, accuracy, open back, non-fatiguing listening...but also I need rugged durability; bomb-proof cans! There doesn't seem to be much info or opinion about the build quality of some of the more popular options. I have an inquisitive 3 year old who can reduce a poorly constructed piece of equipment to its component parts in the time it takes to nip downstairs to make a cuppa. Budget up to about £250ish I guess.

Thanks for reading, cheers.
