I'm looking to plug an SM58 into my Octatrack for live performance. If I go straight into the line ins of the OT, I can just about get level by cranking everything up digitally, but I get a huge amount of noise.
I need recommendations for a gig-worthy battery powered preamp for about +20dB or more gain. Something dead simple like a cloudlifter that runs on batteries instead of phantom. tiny. preferably AA's or AAA's. preferably plugs straight into the XLR out of the mic. not too fussed about sound quality.
