Midrange in hiphop beats

So we all know that the midrange in a hiphop beat is usually almost non-existant, so as to make room for the vocal to be upfront as hell. However, what if you're building a beat around a sample and all of the magic in that sample lives in the midrange? In the song i'm working on, the sample is BEGGING to have 700-2.5k boosted, but that's where I usually place the vocals.



Anyone run into this problem?
