Hi everyone, I have a quick question.
I have been using my Steinberg UR 22 and SM57 to record bad 80s synths, slide guitar, and fender twins with too much reverb (think Beach House). However I want to try my hand at some folk inspired stuff (think Jessica Pratt, Bob Dylan, etc). I have a Condenser mic (MXL 603S mogami, XLR converted with 1/4 attachment) that I want to plug in. I know I have to use phantom power (switch located in the back). After I plug the mic into input 1 and turn the PP on, all I hear is loud static/buzz/etc. Even when I tap the mic, nothing can be heard.
So I was hoping someone good point out a problem in my signal chain, and or a piece of equipment that can get me on the road to recording with my condenser mic. Thanks everyone.
PS I am also using Reaper 4.76, but I don't think that matters....
