Tom Oberheim SEM Pro vs Patchpanel

Hi guys,



I'm in the market for an SEM and I need some help understanding the differences:



SEM Pro

vs

SEM Patchpanel with Kenton Solo



I've read already, that the Kenton has more MIDI options, but a worse sounding portamento. Can anyone confirm this?



The Pro has less patchpoints, that's obvious. Could someone please explain to me, what the additional patchpoints on the Patchpanel actually do?
