So i've got one of these… http://bama.edebris.com/download/kni...racerFinal.pdf that i am recapping.
i need it for various test purposes, but i've been thinking it might be fun to be able to use it as a tube overdrive/sound when recording music. This would not be for guitars, but rather line inputs like synths or pre-amp'd vocals.
But I would want to record direct from the amplifier output, before it hits the speaker. I'd need to tap in at the stage before speaker, as there isn't an access point there externally yet.
What is the fundamental design component behind things like this… direct recording load box ?
Just a form of proper resistance with a high enough wattage to be able to handle the amp? But how is the audio fed elsewhere?

Creating a speaker load for recording an unusual tube amp, direct!
