Hi everyone,
i happen to have a few DAWs (PT11, Studioone, Cubase 7.5 )but since my composing jobs got more and more, i tend to use cubase mostly, since i got used to it and got the fastest workflow.
I updated my computer to i7 4770 , 32gb Ram, Nvidia gtx 660, 2 SSds (system and samples) - 2 HDs (projects and Backup)and a RME UC.
when i mix or compose for films - putting the movie into cubase, it slows everything down. when i mix 50 tracks - its slowing down a lot.
i wonder what you suggest, could help?
since im working with different plugins (waves, sonnox, softube to name a few) and sample instruments from different companies a solution like UAD wont make a big change, right?
But does anyone have had the same topic and found a solution?
I thought when updating ram and cpu, it should be easier to handle many tracks. but 50 ... is not that much i thought.
working with the same movie format is not doin the job since every customer send different files. (found out that even the converter has a big influence on how smooth a movie file plays in cubase)
on top of that im struggling with the peak, clip, however you want to call it problem with Cubase 7.5 in Win7, a lot of people seem to have and not be able to solve it.
So before i change everything to pro tools again, and got different problems - id like to save the time and first ask you guys.
