Trying to get Tobias Ericson's rtpMidi (Windows) working using an AirPort Express, so I can use a couple of iOS devices for triggering MIDI wireless live.
Essentially, I'm running Luminair (DMX lighting) from an iPad, which needs to communicate with an Enttec ODE interface connected to the AirPort Express. I need to tie in some basic MIDI control of the Luminair app from Ableton (Windows), so I need to use rtpMidi through the same Wifi connection - but rtpMidi doesn't seem to be able to connect to any of the gear. The Luminair/ODE connection works fine through the AirPort, but no luck ith rtpMidi. I also have a second iOS device (iPod Touch) that needs to send some MIDI triggers to Ableton, so need to get both working.
I am able to successfully connect both iOS devices to Ableton through rtpMidi using either my home Wifi, or by using an AdHoc network on my Ableton machine - so I know it works. Just wondering why it doesn't when I'm connected to the AirPort.
