what are the advantages of analog modelling hardware synths vs soft synths?

Hi.

After a 6 year bipolar love hate relationship I have decide to part with my SH 101.

This is because over the time I've had it I have spent a lot of time and money getting it fixed, its unpredictable problems have interuppted work flow on more than a couple of tracks and it has just seems like more trouble than its worth.

My current plan is to invest in an sh01 GAIA. I have have demoed and researched it and its usability and design is right on as far as I'm concerned. However in terms of the sound it just doesn't have the phat lush sound of my 101.

As I understand this is to be expected, as its not analog. Fair enough then, but what i want to know is is there any real advantage then to buying a virtual analog/analog modelling over a soft synth? Also can anyone recomend a better synth/route i should go down to get the best of both worlds?

Thanks,

Rich
