I have my computer and iPad setup, controllers, outboard monophonic synth, and now just want to add an outboard effects unit. The purpose is not just to add some typical effects, but to really get experimental and record everything during jam sessions.
Most hardware units I've seen just have standard effects without enough controls for real-time manipulation. I haven't considered guitar pedals because they're often expensive for only one or a few effects, and they're rarely stereo. For years I wanted a Sherman Filterbank, but they're too expensive. Which brings me to the Korg units....
The KAOSS pads seem to be among the few pieces of gear suitable for my purposes at a decent second-hand price. But, I've never owned one and don't know which one to get. I don't need sampling - my computer is way more powerful and easier to use for that. I need it for creating and manipulating unique multi-effects in real time. So.... KO or KP? Which ones? 1, 2, 3, 3+, mini? Thanks.
