I have been doing lots of research on this board prior to joining and posting this question. So I appreciate your genuine and thoughtful answers in advance :)
I have been a guitar player for 24 years and am now making the move to synths (mainly analog). I am building up my arsenal and would appreciate your input in terms of amplification etc.
I have an akai s1000 HD in mint condition that was bequeathed to me along with an old ensoniq sq80 so that I may save patches to floppy.
I will use the sq80 to trigger samples from the s1000 floppy discs (juno 106 samples, rhodes chroma samples etc) and realized that now I need a mixing console AND a amplifier (not sure if it requires a pre amp and power amp) and speakers.
I have this gear to play and can't make any noise, so I was wondering what mixing console recommendations you'd have and also for amps and how to set this up.
Ideally, I'd like to use an old tascam studio mixer/cassette or reel to reel recoder to both record music AND use as a mixer. Any recommendations? Any recommendations on amps and speakers?
