I'm working on designing and building some acoustic treatment for my little project studio.
I've drawn the conclusion that soffits would create a very cost effective solution to maximising bass trapping without making the room too small.
In terms of efficiency, it would be best for me to keep the soffits at a width that is divisible from 600mm.
I can either go 300x300 or 300x600 (HxW) internal.
I can also leave the ceiling cornice trims in place by omitting the top horizontal beam from the cube or relocating it downward or inward to accommodate them. Still not sure whether I should or not. I do own the house, I guess.
Are there any considerations I should take into account in the design and construction process?
So far, I am just basing materials on cost effectiveness. So probably settle with untreated pine 35x75mm and face the wider sections inward to cradle the insulation batts. I am also planning on having an FSK facing on the downward and outward exposed areas.
Many thanks in advance!
Cheers
