Looking for some general help w/ midi

I used to record music back in the 90's and recently decided to

set back up a small home studio using a lot of my older gear (and some a little newer but still years old)

I have a Digi 003 factory mixer with 1x midi in and 2x midi out.

I have an old keyboard controller with 1x midi in and 1 midi out.

I also have an Alesis DM10 drum module with 1x midi in and 1 midi out.

I have no desire to use the keyboards built in sounds.

I want the option to possibly use the DM10 sounds routed analog back through the mixer.

It's funny I've been in sound for 25+ years now but I haven't had to

deal with midi in 15+ and I forgot just about everything about it.

Sorry for the novice question but what would be the best way

to get midi routed in this particular situation?

My terminology might be a bit off but I assume set the keyboard

to output channel 1, drum module channel 10..? Does the drums receive on the same channel 10?

Come out of the keyboard midi out, into the DM10 in and back out of

the DM10 into the 003 mixer?

Or should it go drums into keyboard...or?

I know this sounds like a very basic question I just know as I go to set it up

it's going to take forever even if everything is wired correctly so I'm just trying

to get the wiring side correct from the start.

Once everything gets up and running I plan on using Logic Pro X (hopefully the 003 and everything else works with it)

Thanks
