Multitrack playback - any ideas?

So, a client's just asked me to find a solution to live multitrack playback. We need a minimum of 5 audio playback channels running through their own outputs (2x stereo wavs and 1x dedicated click wav for IEMs). The reason for multiple playback stems is to keep the low end and high end of the backing separate so the FOH mix on each night can be adjusted as much as possible without killing any headroom cross the board from a single stereo source.

Also, yes, it must all be stereo as the nature of the panning/leslie type swirling on some of the low end causes some wild phasing issues. We tried the old one track click/one track backing trick and it was a nightmare. As always, the sturdier, cheaper, lighter, more reliable and user friendly the better!

The obvious route is MacBook Air plus audio interface but I wanted to find out if there's any dedicated hardware for this as I have a love/hate relationship with their new Yosemite updates.

PLEASE NOTE: I'm well aware that there are a lot of people out there who see playing to a backing track as glorified karaoke, but please, keep it to yourself. I know that playing backing tracks is not 'live music' but on this occasion it's my job to sort it out.

Cheers in advance! Looking forward to hearing any solutions!
