Single voice of the Sub 37 in a 1u rack format. Sub Rack. Sub RME.
Courtesy power chaining and mix inputs so that these can be daisy chained for minimum rat nesting in a rack.
A 4u rack case and a Sub 37 gives you up to 5 Poly Moog. (as opposed to just a 3 voice with poly chaining Slim Phattys). edit: actually, I got that wrong, the Slim Phatty takes up 3U.
I know this is very un-Moog. :face palm: Because I'm requesting… wait for it… no knobs.
But it'd be great to be able to expand either the Sub 37 or Sub Phatty voices with a box where I don't have to pay for knobs, pots, and a person to install those knobs and pots.
Would require a full on Sub 37 Voice software editor - which I'm sure they're working on already.
Not sure what I think about it having its own arp and sequencer. With it just being a voice expansion and no knobs, it would seem it would always be a slave to arp/seq inputs from your DAW, or each additional poly voice would be controllable via context switch from the Sub 37 or SW editor.
Seems like a cheap way to get Moog in the hands of ITB people - possibly even cheaper than a Minitaur. Seems like the quickest and least risky path to Moog saying "we've got a poly synth". Seems like you could sell at least one expander to every Sub Phatty and Sub 37 customer out there. There's heaps of 3 Oct controllers out there with a built in Moog voice - all the Little Phattys and the new Sub line.
Separate OSC output that was post mixer and pre-filter could jack into a Pro2 as as OSC expander - as an example - any synth with an external input will work.
The only additional feature I can think that might be needed over the default Sub 37 voice, would be a High Pass filter - I'd imagine that the bottom end would need some trimming for Poly operation. But that's asking too much. Keep it simple stupid.
How much would you pay? Do you want one? Thread fail?
