Folktek Illuminists Garden alternatives

I have been lusting after this for a while now, I like the sound, and the features, but have been put off by reports of poor build quality, small sweet spot and claims that its overpriced.

Is there anything similar out there without these apparent downsides?

Anyone own one of these units, care to share their opinions?
