I really need help!! (Boss rc30)

Hey everyone, I'll try to keep this as simple as possible.

So basically, I'm starting a solo project involving looping guitar, keyboard, and vocals. I wanted to have all 3 instruments go through one looping pedal, so I bought the Mackie 802 LZ4 thinking I could run all the instruments through the mixer and then into the looping pedal. So I bought the Boss RC30 looping pedal and ran all the instruments through the Mackie into the Boss and it sounded great (I was using headphones through the Mackie).

But then I realzied that the Boss has 3 inputs. So I put the mixer to the side and ran all 3 instruments through the Boss and then plugged the outputs into my Scarlet 2i2 and plugged my headphones into the Scarlett (since the Boss doesn't allow headphones directly in)

And it sounded awful. The mic quality was reduced significantly and everything was clipping. So I thought maybe the Boss really couldn't handle all of those instruments and I actually did need the mixer to split the instruments after all. To test this, I kept all the instruments plugged into the Boss and simply ran 1 output cable into input 1 on the Mackie and plugged my headphones into the Mackie as well and it sounded wonderful again. I tried my Fender tube amp and Tascam 8 track as well and they both sounded awful.

So here's my problem: I need to be able to eliminate the need for a mixer in my setup because I want to perform live and just take my pedals with me and plug the audio directly into the venue's mixer or PA system. I also need to produce the sound at home without headphones because I need to know what I'll sound like live while I'm practicing

Does any one have any recommendations for how to achieve this? Or does anyone know why it sounds so crappy through everything else but the mixer makes it sound fine even though the instruments aren't even plugged into the mixer? Do I need something with more power? Like a pre-amp? Or powered speakers? I'm so lost :(
