I absolutely love, the Melodyne Studio interface... and know it so well that editing vocals is fast and easy. With my custom programmed mouse I can blast through a vocal track in minutes.
But...
I can't get over the feeling that Melodyne molests the sound too much. Is this just me? Even if you simply import and export an audio file — without doing ANY editing of any kind — the sound still seems to get tweaked ever so slightly once Melodyne applies its algorithm.
