I have a few questions about the TCV. Seems like many threads about the unit stopped talking about it several years ago...
...soon, any more general experiences about the unit?
I have a few questions:
1. Firstly, how is the reliability of the CV? Have the newer units improved? I read here and there that some units were not so reliable after c. 1 year of use...
2. Secondly, how is the general noise floor/ background hum etc on the unit? Is it "bad" ie comparable to a floor pedal or old vintage unit?
3. Thirdly, can it also be used lightly, to add some "valve sheen" and midrange clarity, or I'd it basically always a distortion box even when used lightly?
In other words, putting it after a solid state preamp on a vocal microphone, does it sound like a "valve" preamp (say one of the many hybrid designs out there) or is it always too "effecty" ?
