Any insight into how to get this much depth in a mix?

When I listen to this on my monitors, the layers and the way the backing sounds almost paint an atmospheric picture is unbelievable. It's really hard to pick out individual sounds, can anyone help with possible insights into how this really thick, dreamy effect is being created in the mix?
