Hello!
I have a EMI problem (I think) in my home studio, and I was wondering if any of you have ideas about what to do. My strat picks up some kind of noise, a ticking or knocking sound that does not seem to follow the same logic as regular hiss and hum.
A few observations :
- The problem seems to exist only in one room.
- If I remove the fuse for the whole room the noise stops. But it does not help to unplug all electronics from all outlets .
- The noise is completely independent of whether my equipment is plugged into an electrical outlet or not. I've tried plugging it into battery driven equipment - the same noise.
- It is not reduced if I put my hand on the strings.
Does anyone have any ideas about the cause or hints how I can proceed with troubleshooting ?
Thanks in advance,
Erik
