I'm vocal mic shopping and I need it for two specific purposes. it will only be used for things dead in front of it. A single vocalist, or close micing a speaker (also in an Iso booth).
What mics in the $1000 range could I try for my voice (slightly dry reedy baritone) who's price is not bumped up by options I won't need? (I'm not going to be micing wider things like rooms, more than one person etc)
Because my voice isn't terribly strong, I tend to double track etc so I do need a focused mic good for layering.
It would also have to handle high pressure like bass and guitar speakers played loud.
Anything put there known for their front on simplicity?
It will be used with a Tascam UH7000 interface/pre.
I already have sm75, fathead ii ribbon, Heil pr30 and a couple of audix i5 mics.

What mic strips down options for quality for solo vocals?
