Kontakt kills(?) Kronos (soundwise) Discussion

Hi, first, I want to clarify that saying ''Kontakt'' I mean any super software sampler (you choose) and saying ''Kronos'' I mean any super sampler/workstation machine (also objective; in this slot you put the best at your opinion today's synth/sampler).



I am a session musician, pianist, composer and live performer as well (like many of us here).



After some years being happy with my live setup (Kurzweil PC3x + Korg Triton Studio) they start sounding dated, compared with the competition. Especially at the acoustic instrument simulation field (pianos, woodwinds, stings and percussion).



So, I am about to update my live rig, and my question is:



Korg Kronos 61+ PC3x as a controller, or



The latest-gratest MacBook loaded with my NI Komplete + Ivory on ProTools 11 + PC3x as a controller?



A 16GB library for sure can't be compared with hundreds of GB of sample libraries..



I am already aware of the possible advantages and disadvantages of each of the combinations above, but always I find that thoughts sharing and discussion before an investment (no mater if its expensive or not) is really helpful.
