Basically, this is the first time I will be recording a cajon. These recordings are for a TV programme, which is also in some situations live.
The set-up consists of a guitar, cajon and a vocalist. As mixer, I am using a Roland M-480, so I am using its built-in equalizer and also compressor. With regards to micing, I was thinking of using a beta 52 at the back, few inches away from the hole.
My main concerns are the ideal compression and EQ I should be using for this kind of instrument. Any suggestions/help please?
