Can Anyone Please help me Load up Mellotron G-Force on a Laptop?

Let me beging by stating that I should know a lot more about this than I do, but I've kept entirely in the analog domain my life so you might have to really walk me through the steps simply. I have this concern, about getting that G-force software on my laptop.

I love the sound of the mellotron, and I would to run the audio out of the laptop into a nice '60s tube amp with great reverb. But the thought of that makes me naseous because I've only ever had problems with the laptop. The audio ALWAYS seems to come out delayed....like for example, when I monitor my audio in REAPER, it comes out of the headphone monitor a half second after the note was played! See this I don't understand, I'm all analog. Mixers work in real time. Why won't my computer? And will this affect my Mellotron package from G-force?

I'd be sad if every time I hit a note on the piano keyboard the G-force sample came out a mili-second after! What a frustrating concept. So please, steer me in the right direction, I'll do anything to learn this. What are the computer requirements? Are my laptops too slow? Or do I need ASIO4ALL? I just don't know.

Does a person plug the midi keyboard into the laptop directly to trigger the Mellotron samples?
